1 Scope

1.1 These requirements cover shutoff valves for trim and drain purposes for fire protection service. This standard covers valve constructions such as ball valves, butterfly valves, globe valves and plug valves.

1.2 These valves are intended for installation and use in accordance with the following standards:

1. a) Low Expansion Foam, NFPA 11;

2. b) Sprinkler Systems, NFPA 13;

3. c) Sprinkler Systems in One- and Two-Family Dwellings and Manufactured Homes, NFPA 13D;

4. d) Sprinkler Systems in Low-Rise Residential Occupancies, NFPA 13R;

5. e) Standpipe and Hose Systems, NFPA 14;

6. f) Water Spray Fixed Systems for Fire Protection, NFPA 15; and

7. g) Stationary Pumps for Fire Protection, NFPA 20.
